Silently they ran past the cameras, each making sure not to be seen. They were trained this way, in the art of stealth and of the ninja. Their mission was clear, kill the guards on duty, allow the other forces to come in, destroy the Shin-Ra attack subs.
One of the five black clad men spoke quietly into his headset, "Remember what Lord Gackt said, leave no one breathing..."
From behind a Shin-Ra guard, a man in black appeared with a blade at the guards throat. It was a quick kill, as blood splattered on the walls. Another tossed a round device at the men playing poker, the resulting explosion leaving dead soldiers and a scorch mark.
"Operation Drowning Arrow...go!"
They wasted no time to sound the klaxons alerting everyone within range where they took up arms, and began attacking whomever they could find. The base lit up within moments as the men ran about grabbing weapons, and turning on powerful searchlights to find their attackers.
The men aboard the subs got on and dove to the bottom of the water to wait until further instruction.
"Shit! The went underwater! Sir, what do we do?"
The ninjas sprinted for what looked like a door leading to one of the docks outside, Through the sub dock gate a non-descript boat was seen.
The leader ninja sliced through another soldier, "Make it to the gate! Do not let Lord Gackt down!"
Five ninjas sprinted the distance, among rapid gun fire.
A rocket launcher was aimed at the retreating figures using nightvision to target them. Soon after getting a lock on two of them it was fired sending the area into a blaze of fire with a resounding explosion.
The explosion incinerated the group of ONI ninjas, the leader was the only one able to avoid the blast. He reached in his pouch and tossed a kunai, hitting the door's switch. Oni Soldiers in baggy jumpsuits and sunhats came pouring in, armed with rifles and swords they hit the Shin-Ra forces head on.
The ninjas rose his sword, "Death to Shin-Ra! To the last man!"
More launchers were revealed, and some were in the process of being loaded and soon fired at the clusters of men taking out some of their own in the attempt to kill as many as possible to prevent any getting where they don't belong.
"Take them out!"
Some ONI fired on the launchers, killing some of their operators. The battle was on the losing end for ONI. SOLDIER was just too well organized for the milita.
The last ninja however quickly took out and soldiers around him, "I must not fail!" He dove into the waters, after the subs.
The subs were slowly moving out of the harbor towards the underwater bay doors which guarded them from outside attack.
The ninja would not stop swimming, it was his oath that the mission would be completed. Meanwhile on the surface, only a handfull of Oni Soldiers were left. The dead of both forces littered the area.
Upon detecting the presence of the lone ninja the sub kept moving subtly further away to prevent his boarding as a counter measure hoping to either torpedo him, or outwait his air supply.
"For Wutai!" thought the ninja as he got closer and closer to the sub. With every muscle in his body he swam towards the sub. Finally, he was at the hull of the underwater weapon. He slapped on a blinking square box.
"Death...to..sh.." The ninja of Oni drifted down into the depths of Junon Bay.
The sub detonated taking the entirety of the crew and devastated the nearby vessels. There was much damage around the port, even the floor of the dock was damaged with twisted charred metal.
The explosion from under the water took out more men. However with the small victory the Oni raid forces were gone, each one killed. Was it a victory? Or a failure?
There were very few Shin-Ra grunts and SOLDIER in the immediate area left alive, there would be little time until they called for reinforcements to help them clear the area.
Meanwhile, Sasuke Gackt sat in the ONI secret base, hearing news on what happened.
"Rufus Shinra, you now know of us...I hope your discover soon that this is a battle you could never win..."
This would be an event written off as a mere resistance faction and little more most likely.
